We take a personalized approach by fine-tuning our process to make it easy for you, without taking away any of your control. We do all the legwork based on your specifications, provide guidance, and leave the ultimate decision-making to you.

Application
We ask all families to fill out our Intake Questionnaire to give us a better sense of your family needs. The Questionnaire asks you to think through and assess your needs as a family and household, and where and how you feel a nanny can fit or fill in. Your responses will give you a better sense of what you’re looking for and help guide us.

Consultation
Once we’ve reviewed your Intake Questionnaire in detail, we’ll schedule a one-on-one meeting with Sarah either on the phone or in-person (whichever you prefer!), so we can get to know each other and have an even better sense of your needs as a family so that we can find the right nanny.

Our Search
You get on with your life while we do the work! Based on the information you’ve provided, we’ll conduct a widespread search for a nanny that suits your needs. We either reach out to candidates in our pool and/or recruit new ones. We hold an extensive in-person interview with each candidate and we speak to references to ensure that all nannies meet our requirements before you even meet them. We share our extensive notes from these calls with you.

Shortlist
Once we’ve completed our search, we’ll present you with 3-4 candidate profiles. These will include their work experience, qualifications, and notes from conversations with previous employers. Want to see more candidates? No problem. Nannies by Sarah is happy to provide additional options.

Interview
We’ll make the arrangements for you to interview the shortlist candidates at your convenience. The interview can take place in your home or in an appropriate public place of your choice. We will not attend that interview, but we are available to discuss each candidate once it has taken place. You can always request more candidates if the first three aren’t right. Your feedback on each interview helps us on our journey.

Mandatory Trial Day
To get a real sense of how the nanny would fit in, we coordinate a trial.

Selection
Over to you! You’ll decide which nanny you’d like to work with and negotiate the terms of employment. Simply notify us of which nanny you’ve decided to hire and carry on with your life.

Final Review
We will do a final background check to make sure the candidate has a clear record.

Training
We recommend that you spend some time training your nanny when the job starts. The training period is essential in getting both nannies and families comfortable with each other and the job in the home environment. We will help guide you through the process with training materials.

Follow-up
Plenty of questions arise once the nanny has started working. As a result, we are here to answer any HR-related questions that arise after hire.
